Note to self #2

A short poem that I wrote for... myself.

Thank you,

for being patient
when I don’t do right,
for forgiving
when I fuck up;

for taking offense
when someone insults me,
for fighting back
when they cross the line;

for being honest
even when it is inconvenient,
for being sincere
even if it looks cringe;

for dreaming big
without taking them too seriously,
for believing in me
without asking for proof;

for caring enough in the first place,
for taking the time to say thanks.

So long,
